South Dakota American Legion Educational Scholarship

On July 13, 2019 The South Dakota American Legion Executive Committee passed a resolution to discontinue the South Dakota American Legion educational loan program.  The Education loan fund will be moved into an endowed fund with the South Dakota Community Foundation in the near future and will fund the newly created South Dakota American Legion Scholarship program.  All educational loans that have been taken out are still required to be repaid, the monies from the repayments will also be placed into the endowment.

Children and grandchildren of veterans are eligible to apply along with veterans.  Scholarships will be paid to the Recipient and the Post secondary school that they attend after the completion of the 1st semester.
